About the Event
Bring your questions and curiosity about all things related to the tarot! Why is it such a sacred tool for divination? What rituals can we explore related to the cards? And what does a relationship with tarot look like, even for beginners? In this interactive experience, Toronto-based tarot reader/energy worker Kait Fowlie explains what tarot is (where is it from and how did it become what it is today?) how it can be used as a tool to enhance intuition, and the many ways it lends itself to a spiritual lifestyle. She shares tarot rituals for new and seasoned readers, and tips for enhancing your readings for yourself and others.
Kait shares her background:
I'm Kait, a Toronto-based writer, tarot reader, tarot teacher and Usui reiki healer.
My journey with tarot began when I was 11, when I was gifted my first tarot deck. I was afraid of it at the time, but definitely curious. Around that time, I wrote a time capsule for myself in the form of an envelope stuffed with notes for my future self. I cut and pasted pictures from magazines, of clothes I liked, places I wanted to visit, homes. I included a picture of a tarot card. I wrote: “I hope you get into tarot reading. I have a deck now, but I don’t know all the cards. I hope you learn them though because I think it adds a certain kind of smartness to you.”
I discovered the time capsule in my parents’ basement at the start of my Saturn return. I believe it changed the course of my life. While I didn’t start working with tarot seriously until my late 20s, I’ve always felt connected to the occult and mysticism, and had a sense that there was so much more to the world than just what I could see. Now, I use tarot as a way to explore those deeper realms.
The purpose of tarot, as I see it, is this: Tarot is a throughline to our intuition. Tarot helps us to look into the future and remember that the future isn’t so unknowable, because I am - we are, fully in charge of all of it. With every move we make, we manifest. It’s up to us if we bring conscious awareness to our world and it’s up to us if we choose not to. Tarot is an invitation to see the choice we have. It puts us in a position to pave our path with intention.
If my fascination with ‘other dimensions’ guided me deeper on my tarot path, my need to make peace with the physical world led me to reiki. This energy healing modality has transformed the way I occupy my body. It’s allowed me to feel more vital and more whole, and express myself in a way that feels authentic. Paired with tarot, reiki has helped me live a life filled with a lot of gratitude and love. I want this for everyone.
